The vmitet (Association of the Mittelbau at the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering) is an autonomous association that represents the interests of the Mittelbau at the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET) of the ETH Zurich. The Mittelbau consists of doctoral students, post-docs, assistants, senior assistants, and scientific staff. vmitet is a member of the Academic Association of Scientific Staff at ETH Zurich (AVETH).

vmitet organizes the elections of representatives for the Mittelbau in boards and committees of the department (DK, UK). It represents the interests of the Mittelbau in particular towards other groups in the department (professors and teaching staff, students, technical and administrative staff), towards the ETH, the industry, and the public. And last but not least, it organizes various career-related and social events, which brings members together and strives for the well-being of everyone in the department.
